Cobham Blooms

cobham-bloomYou may have seen a letter from Sue Kilpatrick in the local press saying that the Cobham in Bloom Working Group are not entering the South & South-East in Bloom competition this year. The reasons for this are:  the small number of people willing to devote time to the project and the vandalism which took place last summer – graffiti, destruction of flower beds, hanging baskets and troughs and the enormous amount of litter which had to be cleared (even though very adequate litter bins are provided).  Nevertheless, the Working Group did decide to continue in 2009 to plant flower beds and shrubs on a more informal basis and to try and ensure that Cobham is clean and tidy.  Thanks are due to Surrey CC, Elmbridge BC, local organisations and individuals for their help in the past and it is very much hoped such support will continue in 2009.  Anyone wishing to help should contact Sue Kilpatrick.
