    As a result of the Surrey County Council tendering process, from 2 Sept Stagecoach will retain the 715 Guildford/Kingston service. Repton's Coaches will take over the 513 Downside/Kingston service.  There will be no changes to routing. (Jul 2017)  


    The Cobham Centre for the Community on Oakdene Road is experiencing a high demand for Meals on Wheels volunteers. This service delivers more than a meal as it is also a wellbeing check and a friendly face. Preliminary work has been taking place in the vicinity of Holly Parade in the High Street, with the main development activity scheduled to start in June. (May 2017

M25 MSA Planning

An application for 'Formation of hardstanding to create HGV parking and associated access' at Cobham Motorway Service Area was refused by the South Area Planning Sub-Committee on 22 May. (May 2017)   


A new timetable was introduced in April for the Chatterbus. Copies are available from the Cedar Centre. (Apr 2017)    

Holly Parade

On 17th January Elmbridge Planning Committee approved an application to re-develop Holly Parade in Cobham High Street. The plans are for a row of four shops and a restaurant/cafe at ground level plus retirement flats on 3 floors above. (Jan 2017)

Road Resurfacing

At long last the road has been re-surfaced on the bridge over the railway at Stoke D’Abernon. (Dec 2016)  

Surrey Tobacco Control Strategy 2016-21

Surrey County Council is consulting re this draft strategy. Closing date for responses is 2nd Nov.  (Oct 2016)

11 Icklingham Road

An application to replace the existing house with a much larger one was refused by Elmbridge South Area Planning Sub-Committee on 26th Sept. The CDRA Chairman, Mrs Sue Kilpatrick, spoke at the Meeting on behalf of residents objecting to the development. (Sep 2016)

Bus Services

Council funded bus services have recently been put out to tender by Surrey County Council for operations from this September when the current contracts come to an end.  Meanwhile, the services will remain operating as at present. (May 2017)  

Glashaus Re-development

There was a public exhibition on 16th March about the proposals to re-develop the site of the Glashaus building in Portmouth Road, which is set back behind a row of shops and overlooks the recreation ground. CDRA representatives attended and discussed the provisional plans with the developers representatives. (Mar 2017)

Green Belt Meeting

About 500 people attended a meeting on 20th February to find out more about the threat to our Green Belt and how to respond to the Elmbridge consultation on this. More about this at  (Feb 2017)

Bus Passes

Staff at Cobham Library in Cedar Road are now able to issue bus passes. (Jan 2017)

Cobham Bus Services

New bus service providers took over the routes through Cobham from 31st December. The 513 continues but a new service, the 715, has replaced the 515 and provides a faster and more direct link to Kingston. New timetables are available from the Cedar Centre Welcome Desk while stocks last. (Jan 2017)

Police Costs Survey

The Police and Crime Commissioner invited people across Surrey to fill in a short online survey on whether or not they would support a proposed 1.99% increase in the policing element of the council tax for 2017/18 (about £4.31 p.a. for a 'Band D' property). (Nov 2016)
